The official start of summer, Memorial Day is a time when families and friends come together to share good times, a meal, camaraderie and the hope for a great season to come.

Take the time , a moment to observe a day on which those who died in active military service. 3 p.m. local time marks a moment of silence in commemoration of America’s fallen heroes and their families, and to do as an act of national unity. The National Moment of Remembrance Act was founded by Carmella LaSpada and signed into law by Congress in 2000, in an effort to encourage Americans to give something back to our country. Consider pausing the party and rallying family and friends to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance in unison, and to collectively share thoughts, recollections and memories of individuals they know who have served.
