Eye, by Tony Tasset
It is PAINFULLY BEAUTIFUL looking at this gigantic, blue eyeball created by American multi-media artist Tony Tasset. Currently this instillation is displayed at 1607 Main St. across from The Joule hotel. This huge 452 inches circumference eyeball made of fiberglass, resin, oil paint, steel creates tension as the sculpture stares across the landscape and back at the viewer. Modeled after Tasset’s own eye, the never- blinking, constantly conscious piece watches over downtown Dallas day and night. The human eye is simultaneously unique, individual and emblematic. "It addresses how we engage and perceive each other while concurrently asserting a prophetic, perhaps even omniscient, presence."
Come and "SEE" this one-of-a-kind installation on the hotel’s temporary exhibition site that will be on display indefinitely!
